In 1995, over a bridge game in Kihei, Bob Liberty, newly retired President of Moss Adams - the Pacific Northwest's largest and most prestigious accounting firm - and past president of the National Association of CPA’s met Allan Pike, local entrepreneur and controller for a local construction company.
They became bridge partners, fast friends, and later began Tax & Accounting Services.
From the beginning, the philosophy was to provide down to earth, simplified, and easy to comprehend tax and accounting services for individuals and small businesses.
Our slogan was “fast, accurate, and affordable”.
Bob & Allan have since passed away, but their philosophy and caring professionalism are being carried on by Allan’s family, Terri and Scott, and the tax and accounting staff:
Terri and Allan moved to Maui in 1981 from Colorado. Their background was in real estate sales. Allan went into finance and Terri became Sales Director for This Week Publications. In 1997 Terri joined Allan at Tax & Accounting Services. When she's not at the office, Terri can be found on the golf course.
Terri & Allan’s son, Scott, graduated from Baldwin High School in 1986 and earned a BA degree in accounting from UH Hilo in 1991. He worked with Foodland as an Assistant manager until he became a Maui firefighter in 1999 and joined Tax & Accounting Services as a tax preparer and accountant. He grows taro in Keanae as a hobby.
Bill joined our practice in January of 2015 after relocating from Kauai. Originally from Maine, he has more than 20 years of Bookkeeping experience, including Retail, Construction, Service, and Non-Profit businesses, among others. He enjoys spending his days off at the beach with his wife.
Minime is the official greeter at Tax & Accounting Services. He is a Papillon, the son of an Australian Grand Champion. He moved to Maui from Australia in 2005. When Minime isn't greeting clients, he enjoys sleeping under Terri's desk.
